Rockland man arrested for string of robberies, thefts

ROCKLAND-A 32-year-old Rockland man was arrested on multiple counts of burglary and theft, according to the Rockland Police Department.

Clifford Dumont was taken into custody on Nov. 21 on three counts of felony theft, one count of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft, three counts of criminal mischief, three counts of misdemeanor larceny and three counts of misdemeanor violation of conditions of release felonies.

Dumont was released the next day on unsecured bail with a Maine pre-trial bond.

However, it was later discovered that Dumont had provided false information about his residence, resulting in a breach of his bail conditions.

Rockland Police requested and were granted a new warrant for Dumont’s arrest for this violation.

On December 9, Rockland Police received a report of shopping at a local retailer.

After reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified Dumont as the suspect.

On December 10, police located and arrested Dumont on the outstanding warrant and additional theft charges related to the sales incident.
