Milwaukee woman known as ‘Pimpin’ Amanda sentenced to 17 years on sex trafficking charges

MILWAUKEE (WLUK) — A Milwaukee woman was convicted Wednesday of nearly two decades of sex trafficking crimes.

Colette Mahan, 41, received a 19-year sentence in federal prison after pleading guilty in May to one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion.

According to a news release, Mahan — who officials say was known as “Pimpin’ Amanda” — trafficked numerous female victims over a period of at least 17 years “using a combination of false promises, threats and extreme physical violence”.

Among the victims are minors up to 14 years old.

The files also show that Mahan solicited his victims for sex at strip clubs, hotels, bars, casinos and street tracks in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota , Kentucky, Florida and Nevada. and she demanded to give him all they had earned.

At her sentencing hearing, the judge described “how Mahan beat young women and girls into selling their bodies” and how their suffering paid for Mahan’s luxuries, such as a Porsche.

“For many years, Ms. Mahan sought to dehumanize others for her own financial gain. I appreciate the courage and resilience shown by the victims in sharing the details of the abuse they suffered at the hands of Ms. Mahan.” US Attorney Gregory Haanstad said in the statement. “The 19-year sentence reflects their courage, as well as the tireless and collaborative work of the FBI, the Milwaukee Police Department and federal prosecutors in pursuing justice in this case.”

Authorities say Mahan was similarly victimized as a teenager.
