Newberry Lions Club holds benefit for family of high school student killed in hunting accident

NEWBERRY, Fla. (WCJB) – The Newberry community continues to support a family who lost their son after a hunting accident.

The Newberry Lions Club is hosting a pancake breakfast Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lions Club building.

Newberry Lions Club officials said all proceeds will go to the family of Newberry High School senior Malachi Lancaster, who died last Sunday in a hunting accident.

“They are very much loved and I hope they can find closure and move on. You never forget something like this, that’s for sure, but we certainly want to give the community a chance to express themselves,” said Ken Mcintosh, president of the Newberry Lions Club.
