James Kennedy addresses domestic violence arrest

Vanderpump Rules personality James Kennedy broke his silence after being arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence.

“We are conducting our own investigation into the allegations made by the Burbank Police Department against James,” attorneys for Kennedy, 32, said in a statement on Friday, Dec. 13. “It is our understanding that they were not injured, and we hope that after careful consideration, city attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”

On Thursday, December 12, news broke that Kennedy he had been arrested. According to TMZ, police officers were dispatched to Kennedy’s home in California on Tuesday, December 10, after receiving a call about a couple arguing. A witness allegedly saw Kennedy arguing with a woman and picked her up.

Law enforcement officials, according to TMZ, saw no visible injuries on the alleged victim. Specific details were not immediately released.

Kennedy had been a Bravo mainstay Vanderpump Rules for the first 11 seasons. The news broke late last month in the upcoming season it would restart with a new crop of SURvers.

“I was at the airport because I was flying to Hilton Head for Thanksgiving. James was at home and he got a call from the producers saying it was a great run but time was up,” Lewber, 28, recalled. Us. “It was much nicer than that. I wasn’t there so I didn’t get to see him, but I was calling and checking in and he said, “I’m fine.” He was just going to the gym and doing his thing, but I could tell he was a little thin. But I think it was reflective.”

She added: “I think he said, ‘Wow, that was crazy.’ It was just a crazy part of his life and such an important part of his life. I think he’s so proud—I know he’s so proud—of where he is now compared to where the show started. So, I think it’s just gratitude and looking back and saying, “Holy…. We just did this and now we can move on.”

Lewber began dating Kennedy in 2022 after his breakup with his ex-fiancée Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. She did it VPR debuted in season 10 and returned for season 11, which aired earlier this year.

Lewber, for her part, did not publicly address Kennedy’s arrest. She and Kennedy live together with his dog Hippiewho he adopted after Leviss, 29, had to rehome the pup due to behavioral problems.

“Life is really much simpler. It’s quiet, it’s quiet. I miss seeing people and having those friendships and seeing them every day, but it’s just different,” she said. That’s all I’ll say about it.”
