Scammers are looking at the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office and threatening arrest

Scammers are targeting residents by impersonating law enforcement officials, pretending to be Lt. Corbin of the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, the agency said.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the callers are threatening people with arrest warrants if payments are not made.

“This is a scam,” the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office said. “Our staff will not call or threaten people with arrest if they don’t pay.”

Residents receiving such calls are advised to hang up immediately and verify the legitimacy of the call by contacting the agency directly. To reach the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, people can call 530-934-6431.
