Gender equality in Hong Kong is on the rise

Meanwhile, the report also found that 24% of Hong Kong employers said they did fully achieved gender equality at work.

Almost half (47%) also said they were getting close to full equality, while 23% reported they were “still reasonably far from full equality.”

More than half of respondents (57%) also said they promote pay equity in the workplace, with the percentage rising for employers in the manufacturing and materials industries (66%).

The top measure that employers said drives progress in gender equality in recruitment and retention is building trusting relationships with teams (37%). according to the report.

A third of employers also said that effectively supporting employee wellbeing (33%) and mentoring and training employees (33%) also help gender equality.
