Semington man jailed after ‘despicable’ attacks on woman and police

A man who assaulted a “despicable” woman and attacked several police officers has been jailed for 27 months.

Daniel O’Sullivan, 35, fled his home in Greenacres Mobile Park, Semington, Wiltshire, on June 5 carrying knives after police were called to check the welfare of a 30-year-old woman.

When O’Sullivan was caught in the woods near the A350, he kicked one officer, tried to headbutt another, before continuing to threaten and physically assault the officers in custody. He admitted all the crimes.

As well as the prison sentence, O’Sullivan was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge and given a restraining order during sentencing at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday.
