Man gets probation for having child pornography on his work computer

TOWANDA, Pa. (WBNG) — The Bradford County District Attorney’s Office has announced the conviction of a man after he had child pornography on his work computer.

The district attorney’s office said Victor Murray Franklin, 64, of Towanda, will serve two years of probation for criminal use of a communication device.

Franklin was charged in April after an investigation determined he downloaded the child pornography onto his work computer at Franklin’s Appliance Repair & Sales in Wysox, Pa.

He was originally charged with multiple counts of downloading the images, but this felony conviction covers all of those charges, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Franklin pleaded no contest to the charge.

Prosecutors said that because of Franklin’s age and complete lack of a criminal record, sentencing guidelines set by the state legislature call for a sentence of 24 months of probation,

His probation can be revoked if he is charged with a new crime or fails to complete his probation.
