Two arrested on multiple charges by Rhode Island troopers

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police have made two separate arrests at Lincoln Woods Barracks on charges ranging from simple theft to reckless driving.

At 10:57 a.m., troopers arrested Everett Britto, 53, of 608 Huntington Avenue, Providence, RI, on three counts of habitual offender shoplifting, shoplifting, and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Britto’s arrest followed a trooper-led investigation of an incident at the 6th District Court.

He was processed at the state police Lincoln Woods Barracks and later arraigned in the same court.

Later in the day at 1:22 p.m., State Police arrested Nathan Silva, 26, of 225 Sterry St., Apt. 1, Pawtucket, RI, for reckless driving with aggravated evading law enforcement and engaging in a high-speed pursuit, marking his second such offense.

Silva’s arrest was the culmination of a coordinated investigation between the State Police and the Pawtucket Police Department that led to his capture on an affidavit and warrant.

Silva was arraigned at Lincoln Woods Barracks, tried by a justice of the peace and later released.
